Prayer Flags in the Garden of the Sheringham Meeting House.

YouTube Preview Image

Inspired by the Buddhist tradition a group of our Sheringham people got to work producing their own prayer flags. They agreed to leave their sewing machines in the cupboard. Every flag would be entirely hand-stitched.

In April, all the flags were hung up in the Meeting House garden. Following the Buddhist practice, they will stay in the open air dispersing the care and goodwill that went into their creation as they gradually weather and fall apart.

Walk Out with Sheringham Quakers

Are any Friends interested in forming a weekly walking group for a shared experience and strengthening of our Quaker Community? There are many interesting walks starting from the town, and others within the locality that might be accessed using the Coasthopper bus service, either to ride out to a starting point, or to return from a completed walk.

I would suggest an initial meeting to decide a time convenient, and to get an idea of abilities and preferred distances. Once up and walking this should provide good company and improved well-being for Friends and their friends. Please let me know if you are interested:

Funeral Arrangement Forms

For those Friends who may have missed the notice given out after Meeting ffor Worship early in February, I should like to mention the availability of standard forms held at Meeting to record their end of life arrangements.

The forms are generally used for advising Meeting of your preferred funeral arrangements, contact names, addresses, telephone numbers, and any other useful information that might be useful in the event of your death. Forms may be obtained from any Elder/Overseer, and when completed, should be handed back in a sealed envelope, for confidentiality, with your name on the front which will then be retained in the office at the Meeting House.
